Thanks to Brian Malnar for his fine treenware spoon demo.  I heard for some of you that it was very good.

We elected Officers:  President; Brian Malnar,  VP/Program Coordinator; Crusty Harmon, Treasurer;  Ron Hasse,  Web Administrator; Dan Stratton, and News Letter; Wayne Rexford.

This month’s program is the annual picnic at Brian and Tami”s home.  The club will furnish the meat, drink and table service.  The remainder will be as follows:  A-L bring deserts and  M-Z bring salads or side dishes.  The Meeting starts at 1:00 with the meal and then will go from the log to the lathe.  There will be chain saws there and safety will be discussed in their use.  Green woodturning is a hoot if you have never done that.

Ray Phillips from Oregon will be there to sell burls so you might want to bring some cash

Brian’s home is 9531 Halstead Dr. From Fairview Ave turn North on Mitchell or Linda Vista to Halstead Dr.  Turn opposite of Peterson Chevrolet. Or Combs call Corral.

FIRST TUESDAY: Sharpening.  So bring that really dull favorite tool  of yours and get an edge on it.   Nothing turns like a sharp tool.

Gary Smith has suggested that we get Dick Sing for our next program turner.  Dick does a lot of things.   He is good.  Some of my design elements are his influence.

Keep bringing your show and tell items.  Makes us all better turners.

Looking down the road, mark you calendar for turning FREEDOM PENS Nov. 11^th.  There will be work nights so stay tuned.

The Kuna Quilter’s show went very well.  We had lots of good looks at what we enjoy doing!!

FIRST TUESDAY: This is the 1^st of many that is scheduled to hi-light one turning tool and its use. So August 5^th, bring your round spindle and learn how to make coves and beads with various tools to form them. This is “hands on”. It will be at Woodcraft from 6-7:00 pm.
